Ridge Royal Hotel, Cape Coast has commenced operation following the unintended Covid 19 break. Owing to the novel coronavirus, government halted operations of some firms within the hospitality industry as part of efforts to curb the spread of the disease in the country.
However, following government’s ease on restrictions; hotels, restaurants and bars have been given the green light to operate under strict hygienic protocols.
This directive has informed the decision by managers of Ridge Royal Hotel to start operation.
During a media tour of the facility on Wednesday, Mr. Samuel Aduama the General Manager of the facility bemoaned the challenges Covid 19 had caused the hospitality industry but was hopeful business would pick up as he assured potential clients of their safety.

He mentioned that the hotel has adopted all the necessary protocols to safe guard the safety of their client, adding that all their facilities were open to use with the exception of their gymnasium which they are unsure of its safety.
Mr. Aduama indicated that management of the facility would lobby to acquire government’s relief packages to help rejuvenate their operation.
Government through the Ghana Tourism Development Project (GTDP), has launched a $9million Grant Scheme to boost the leisure tourism industry.
The scheme as announced by the sector minister, Barbara Oteng Gyansi, is to provide support to stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry since they have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
Director of Ghana Tourism Authority in the region, Mr. Kwame Gyasi was pleased with the measures Ridge Royal had put in place. He further hinted that the authority has plans of training stakeholders in the sector.
