The Ghana Police Service has arrested the driver of the Hyundai truck which allegedly caused the accident involving Ghana’s new train that was on a test drive on the railway line on Thursday.
The Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) train is said to have collided with the unoccupied truck which was stationed across the rail track on the Tema-Mpakadan railway during the Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
The incident was promptly reported to police and police thereafter arrested the driver of the truck.
In a statement, the police established that the suspect driver left the said vehicle unattended on the railway line, leading to a collision with the train.
Meanwhile the Police investigation into the incident continues.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested the driver of a Hyundai truck with registration number GS 9018 – 20 for allegedly causing an accident involving a Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) train on the Tema-Mpakadan railway line today Thursday 18th April 2024.
Police preliminary investigation has established that the suspect driver left the said vehicle unattended on the railway line, leading to a collision with the train.
Police investigation into the incident continues.
