Ghanaian musician, Kwame Nsiah-Appau known in showbiz as Okyeame Kwame has revealed that the music group formed in the late nineties, Akyeame was the first hiplife group to win the coveted crown of Ghana Music Awards.
Okyeame Kwame was speaking on Accra based Citi and monitored by atlfmenews when he shared his excitement for being relevant these past 26 years.
Okyeame Kwame and Okyeame Quophi formed a very formiddable musiv group, Akyeame in the late nineties and they went on to release hits lie “Mesan aba” among other great songs.

Speaking about his relevance these past 26 years as a musician, the rap Doctor mentioned that a nomination at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Award (TGMA) is an exciting feeling after 26 years in Music.
According to the “Hello Maame” hitmaker, Akyeame was the first group to win a Ghana Music Awards.
“Akyeame had about 12 nominations and we won Hiplife Song of the Year. Making Akyeame the first Hiplife Group to win Ghana Music Awards.”
Explaining the secret to his longevity and relevance in the music industry, “the Woso” crooner mentioned that he is always open to criticism of the arts.
“This posture of mine makes it possible for me to be unattached to the things I create, and because I am unattached, I can take criticism of the art easily”.
