Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is a well-known social media celebrity and a contentious cross-dresser. He was detained by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The arrest, which happened on Wednesday night in Lagos, follows accusations of misusing the naira, the currency of Nigeria.
Bobrisky, a person who is frequently in the news due to a variety of scandals, is currently under the EFCC’s custody at their Lagos Command.
Bobrisky’s detention is linked to claims of naira misuse, including the spraying and mutilation of naira notes, according to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale.
Oyewale, who confirmed the arrest, emphasized how seriously the EFCC takes maintaining the integrity of the country’s currency.

“Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others,” stated Oyewale.
Although the investigation into the incident is still ongoing, Bobrisky will eventually be charged in court, according to the EFCC.
