The President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has denied some social media reports that a veteran actor Zack Orji is dead.
The alleged demise of the actor sparked a frenzy online on Tuesday morning, with many erroneously believing the fake news.
But in swift reaction, the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria described the alleged death as social media rumours, warning others to stop claiming Zack Orji is dead.
Rollas, in a rebuttal said: “Mr. Zack Orji is alive. Please disregard the malicious rumors being spread by mischief makers who derive pleasure from circulating false information.”

Expressing his dismay, Rollas added, “This is a stark example of how cruel some individuals can be. It is utterly unacceptable. Zack Orji will not succumb to such fabrications but will continue to live and proclaim the goodness of God in Jesus’ name.”
The unfounded rumour had emerged just days following the passing of another esteemed actor, Amaechi Muonagor, who had tragically lost his battle to kidney failure.
In the realm of Nigerian cinema, few names resonate with as much reverence and admiration as Zack Orji.
Renowned for his exceptional talent, versatility, and profound impact on the Nigerian film industry, Orji’s journey from a young dreamer to an award-winning actor is nothing short of inspiring.
Born on October 10, 1960, in Libreville, Gabon, Zack Orji’s passion for acting was ignited during his formative years. He pursued his passion with fervor, eventually earning a degree in the Dramatic Arts from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Armed with determination and talent, Orji embarked on his acting journey, steadily carving a niche for himself in Nigeria’s burgeoning film industry, popularly known as Nollywood.
