The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has reduced the electricity tariffs for Residential Consumers whose consumption bracket falls within 301kWh by 6.56%.
According to PURC, this adjustment is based on considerations of the competitiveness of industries as well as the general living conditions of the Ghanaian.
Additionally, PURC maintains that the non-residential class of consumers with tariffs within the 0-300kWh will continue to pay their current rates with no charge for their rates.
Also, lifeline consumers will have no charge (0%) in their electricity tariffs.
Meanwhile, PURC says water Tariffs remain unchanged for all classes of consumers.
In a statement dated February 27, 2024, PURC detailed these adjustments as part of its Quarterly Tariff Review Mechanism.
