Tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m., Wiyaala will perform in Accra for the first time in five years during a show at the Alliance Francaise.
On Saturday at 9:00 p.m., she will also be available at +233 Jazz Bar & Grill for another show.
Wiyaala, who has been playing with The Yaga Yagas since 2019, will be performing at both nights. The band has been touring Europe.
In addition to some brand-new, quite intriguing songs from Wiyaala, who bills herself the lioness of Africa, there will be some of the classic favorites, like Rock My Body.
“I’ll also be bringing some interesting and talented musicians from Northern Ghana. There will be master xylophonist Isaac Birituro, kologo player Stevo Atimbre and I’m introducing an exciting new young band from Wa, who go by the name of the Chin-Chigas,” she said.

Since 2009, when Wiyaala recorded her debut song Tuma at Echo Soundz Studios in Wa, she has been cultivating a positive reputation in Ghana’s music business. The song was recorded in Shuffle.
She did, however, participate in Vodafone Icons Mixed Edition in Accra in search of greater job opportunities, and her group, BlackNPeach, won.
After Wonkoa’s declaration in 2013, she left the group and went on to release additional songs, including Make Me Dance, Wisi, Tuma, Leno, Woyaye, and Africa.
Wiyaala has performed at worldwide festivals, including the Hull Freedom Festival in the UK, the Afrikadey Festival in Calgary, Canada, and the Hague African Festival in the Netherlands.
In 2015, she was the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ (VGMAs) Best Female Vocalist of the Year winner.
