On April 18, 2025, the Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, will be released worldwide.
International distribution is being handled by Universal Pictures, while domestic distribution is being handled by Lionsgate.
Production on the movie is anticipated to start on January 22.

Co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate John McClain and John Branca are producing with veteran biopictor Graham King, who won an Oscar for his work on the Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody. The screenplay was written by John Logan, the author of Gladiator and The Aviator.
Lionsgate claims that the biography will cover every facet of Michael Jackson’s life, although it is unknown if or how the numerous scandals surrounding the late music legend will be covered.
The official synopsis for the film reads: “Michael will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became the King of Pop. The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale — from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, exemplified by his most iconic performances. As never before, audiences will experience an inside look into one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known.”
Other from the Michael Jackson biopic, the other big studio release scheduled for April 2025 is the Minecraft movie. Jason Mamoa and Jack Black are slated to act in the Warner Bros. film.
