Ghanaian celebrity Regina Adu Safowaah is going to try to set a record for the longest speech marathon by the Guinness World Records.

The La Palm Royal Beach Hotel will host the record action from February 9–14, 2024.

Ghana and Africa will be the topics of her speech, Kwame Dadzie stated in an interview on Joy FM’s Twitter Spaces.

“With the longest speech marathon, your topics are irrelevant to them. But whatever you say must mean something to the public. So I come as a public figure or a lecturer talking about issues of life.

I told them that I will talk about Africa, precisely Ghana. So if I take Greater Accra Region, I am to tell them about their culture, what they are about, what they believe in,” Adu said.

She added that although she is free to speak in whichever language she wants, she will be speaking Twi, English, and French in her situation.

A question and answer period may be arranged in accordance with the regulations, but the participants must remain anonymous.

Every speech has to last at least five minutes. The record activity must be ongoing, with the exception of 30-second intervals between speakers. Additionally, each utterance must be naturally occurring, unplanned, and quite distinct from the others.

Adu Safowaah is the CEO of Aketesia Group in addition to being an actor, creative director, and businessman.

After Afua Asantewaa (sing-a-thon), Chef Failatu Abdul Razak (cook-a-thon), Ace-Liam Nana Sam (youngest artist), and Dela Gomey (lipstick applications in 30 seconds), she will be the fifth Ghanaian to try a Guinness World Record.

In the meantime, it is reported than close to 400 Ghanaians have applied to Guinness World Records to take part in various attempts.
