After admitting that she admires Kuami Eugene, Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum, the Ghanaian woman who attempted the singa-thon for the Guinness World Records, is pleading with her detractors to slow down.
Afua Asantewaa has been in the news lately once more, and it seems that some Ghanaians are not fond of her for declaring Kuami Eugene to be her crush in public.
Afua revealed that she was so enamored of Kuami Eugene that she was even taken aback when she met him in the Akwaaba Village, where he had come to support her sing-a-thon.
“I said that guy came and I could not remember my lyrics. I said ‘this guy has worried me.’ If Guinness people don’t give me the record, it’s Kuami Eugene. “

My husband knows so when he got there I said ‘Kuami you have worried me. You shouldn’t have come. I sang ‘Asuoden’ and you know his rap comes after. As I stood there, I did everything I couldn’t remember”, she told Joy Prime in a recent interview.
Even though Afua Asantewaa believed her remarks were benign, several internet users have criticized her for allegedly disrespecting her husband by openly displaying her love for another man.
But yesterday, Afua implored his detractors to shut up and stop turning her jokes into bitter pills in an Instagram post.
She wrote: “Aaaw, jokes turn bitter pills. Husby sef his crush is Omotola (honey will say ah bebe). Don’t give yourselves headache wai na life is too short. Wear Ghana, Eat Ghana and Tour Ghana to know Ghana.”
Afua Asantewaa, in the meantime, has revealed that she has sent documentation to the global organization proving her attempt to surpass the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual.
The video footage was submitted by Mrs. Asantewaa Aduonum’s team last Saturday for verification and assessment.
