The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has vehemently denied false reports circulating on Ghanaweb, claiming a ban on its operations in Nigeria.
Management of the University refutes the allegations, emphasizing that UCC has no presence or granted franchises in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Director, Directorate of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd), Psc, APR intimated that UCC operates solely in Ghana and hasn’t authorized any institution in Nigeria to run its programs.
Additionally, International students, including Nigerians, apply directly to UCC for admission.
To the University, Ghanaweb hastily linked the University to a different entity, Cape Coast University (CCU), without verifying information and as such entreated its stakeholders and the general public to disregard the malicious publication.
“Management wishes to assure its cherished stakeholders and the general public that the University holds very dear its solid brand as an excellent academic institution with world-wide acclaim and, for that matter, would not do anything untoward to tannish its hard-won reputation as the Number One University in Ghana and West Africa, and the Seventh in Africa, according to the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.”
