Award-winning rapper Sarkodie from Ghana performed twice in a row early on Sunday, December 3, during the second “This is Tema” festival, which was taking place in the Chemu Park in Community Seven, Tema.
The rapper, supported by a live band, delighted his fans with hits from his repertoire from 2:40 am to 4:10 am when he made his announcement on the enormous platform. The crowd was singing along with him the entire time.
In order to thank his home base supporters, Sarkodie, who was born and raised in Community 9, Tema, started the “This is Tema” Festival in 2019.
The festival was canceled last year due to COVID-19 and other commitments, as Sarkodie later revealed on stage. However, he stated that he intended to continue the festival, which this year began on Saturday night and continued until Sunday morning, when Obidi, as Sarkodie is sometimes called, concluded with his song “Country Side,” which features Black Sherif.

Many people from Tema, Ashaiman, Nungua, and other areas flocked to Chemu Park to witness Sarkodie perform, along with a plethora of other artists that came to support the event.
To lend some flair to the festival, Sarkodie performed alongside Eyfa, EL, Paedae, HipHop singer Medikal, ‘Effiakuma Love’ crooner Kofi Kinaata, Donzy, Kumasi-based Kofi Jamar, and Kweku Flick.
Others were always thrilling. Among many others who provided customers with an exciting experience were Pappy Kojo, Yaw Tog, Maya Blu, Asakaa Boys, Darkovibes, Hip Hop and Afrobeats musician Kofi Mole, Kwame Yogot of “Biibi Besi” fame, Dope Nation, and Quamina MP.
Without a doubt, the celebration went down a storm as people danced and sang along to their favorite tunes. The addition of the food and drink vendors to the festival was well appreciated.
Prior to the festival, Sarkodie, who began his career in Tema, organized a football gala and a health walk with his wife Tracy in an effort to stay in contact with the neighborhood where he grew up and began his career.
