CUDDLY The latest drama by Ghanaian playwright Kuta Body Alone, “Sand in My Sugar,” is slated to open on December 1, 2023, at the ICGC Zoe Temple in Tema Community 5, and is sure to enthrall audiences once more.
“Sand in My Sugar” delves into the captivating story of a young Christian couple dealing with the difficulties that come when their mother-in-law pays them a visit. The audience will see the husband’s struggle to maintain a healthy balance between his responsibilities as a dutiful son and a devoted spouse as the story progresses.
In a conversation, Kuta Body Alone revealed to Graphic Showbiz that he intends to explore the subjects of parental meddling and marital harmony in addition to providing advice on how couples may get through difficult times together.

“I am very much dedicated to addressing the complexities of family dynamics and relationships and I am hopeful that this new play will resonate with the audience. Marriage is a very critical part of our society and I believe Sand in My Sugar can address some of the marital challenges most couple encounter especially when it comes to family interference in marriages.
The cast include Bless Mensah, Joyce Nana Ama Maanu, Eric Nartey, Martin Ngoswini, Shadrack Opata, Nathaniel Ayivor, Ebenezer Ocran, Ernestina Odai, Bernice Ablah Adzraku, Prince Michael Kumah, and Mohammed Mansur.
Kuta Body Alone is also credited with Double S, a play that explores the struggles of a young couple who did not take the pain to know their genotypes until it was time for them to tie the knot.
