However, the Doggfather briefly pulled a fast one on us all last week when he appeared to be adamantly declaring that he was quitting his lifetime marijuana use. Snoop posted a message on social media saying, “I’ve decided to give up smoking.”
The MC, who has spent the last thirty years hardly ever seen without his reliable blunt, seemed unlikely to give up the habit that has earned him the most adored stoner in the world so abruptly and without apparent reason. It is therefore not surprising that his announcement raised more questions than it answered.

On Monday morning, Nov. 20, he clarified things, saying that the revelation of his most recent endorsement contract was made possible by the “smoke” portion of his remark.
The headline on the Solo Stove campfire website said, “Go smokeless with Snoop Dogg.” According to the press release, the rapper’s $350 “Snoop Stove” with his signature and a set of dog paws emblazoned on the side, together with a bucket hat and sticker pack, are all part of the brand’s limited-edition collaboration with Snoop.
An empathetic Snoop remarked, “I have an announcement,” in a corresponding video. He was sitting by himself in the woods among chirping crickets when he said, “I’m givin’ up smoke.”
“I understand that you might be thinking, ‘Snoop, smoke is pretty much everything!'” But I’ve had enough of it. I’m over my coughing fit and the musty, foul-smelling scent on my clothes. The rapper said, “I’m going smokeless,” as the camera panted back to show him sitting in front of a Solo firepit.
