Akosua Agyapong, a veteran Highlife artist, has voiced grave concerns over the growing trend among Ghanaian celebrities to stay away from marriages inside their respective industries.
It is now necessary to consider the ramifications of mistrust and jealousy, which are driving many celebrities to look for companionship outside of the spotlight in a field known for its glitzy façade.
She thinks the main cause of this tendency was the enduring trust problem that accompanies relationships in the public eye, as celebrities continue to grapple with the intricacies of love and celebrity.
Akosua Agyapong claimed in a Graphic Showbiz interview that the reason most celebrity marriages last so long is because the people getting married chose to marry people who are not in their field of work.
She emphasized that a number of singers, including Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Edem, Okyeame Kwame, and Kojo Antwi, were married outside of the music business, which helped their marriages succeed.
“I have observed for a very long time that celebrities enjoy their marriages and also stay together for a longer period because their partners are not also in the limelight,” she observed.

“If you do the same work that I do, there will always be trust issues. You are in the limelight, and I am too, so when you step out, I will always have doubts in my mind, no matter the trust,” articulated the Frema and Me Ye Obaa hitmaker.
Going deeper, she identified the innate difficulties that celebrities who marry other members of the industry experience, as the mix of fervent admirers, close embraces for pictures, and the possibility of envy may be explosive and cause relationship strain.
“Ladies are always holding you tight to take pictures with you, and if I am the jealous type, it will definitely not work for us,” she disclosed, emphasising the relational difficulties within the industry.
