NPP Presidential hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong says he will not relent even for a moment in bringing his vision of industrial revolution to the central region when given the nod to lead the country come December 2024.
To him, the central region has not had its fair share of the national cake emphasizing that it is imperative for the region to head towards the development that it seeks.
In an interview with Kastle FM captured live on ATLFM in Cape Coast on Friday, he indicated that he will ensure the region being the tourism hub of Ghana receives the needed facelift.
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong noted that little has been done to develop tourist sites especially the Kakum Forest which attracts tourists on a daily basis.
“Why would tourists drive 2-3 hours back to Accra after visiting the famous Kakum Forest for a brief moment? This is because we don’t do the things that will attract these tourists to stay when they come to the region” he said.
The MP for Assin Central pointed out he will place an electric fence wall to guard the Kakum Forest while also ensuring all animals the forests lack are resourced to the facility to improve tourism in the region.
“I will also make sure the road leading to the tourist sites is fixed and provide armoured trucks to transport tourists in the forest without any attack from the animals.
Do you know the number of people that will get jobs? Our lands are very fertile and we don’t have factories in the region. We are even underutilizing the palm plantation we have in the region because more can be derived from the palm we produce,” he continued.
Mr. Agyapong opined that he is a pragmatic leader who is business-minded and can turn the region’s resources into wealth while also creating jobs for the youth in the region.
He added that his vision will not leave the fisher folks behind as they will also receive his benevolence.
However, he explained that the region’s highways ought to be given the needed attention to facilitate development in the region.
To Kennedy Agyapong, it is time the region gets a dual carriageway on its highways to facilitate tourism adding that he is the only person to think this far for the region.
He believes he is the perfect elect to relieve the youth from the unemployment situation in the country.
It is against this backdrop that Mr. Agyapong implored delegates to vote wisely and not allow themselves to be lured during the November 4 NPP Presidential Elections.
Touting his contribution to the region. Mr Agyapong emphasized that no one can ever compare his benevolence to the region.
He explained that it has been through his efforts that the NPP party never lost elections in his constituency indicating that he has contributed massively to the Party’s wins in elections.
He therefore stressed that delegates must give him the opportunity to bring his vision of the industrial revolution to the central region and country at large.
