Nigerian singer, Innocent Ujah Idibia popularly known as 2Face Idibia came up tops on the list of awardees as he went home with the Lifetime Achievement award at the just ended Trace Awards Night.
The inaugural event which took place on Saturday, October 21, at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, saw the likes of Davido, Reyma and a host of other Nigerian and African artistes sweeping the awards on the night.
The awards scheme was powered by Global music powerhouse, Trace, to celebrate the creativity, talent, and influence of African and Afro-inspired music and artists.
One of the musicians who had worked hard from the mid nineties, 2Face Idibia, was part of RNB group, Plantashun Boiz, under God Father Production and later went on to pursue a solo career won the Trace Lifetime Achievement Award on the night.
The night saw some scintillating performances from some African artistes like Ghana’s Black Sherif, Davido, Yemi Alade, , Kizz Daniel and more. On the night, Nigerian music veteran D’Banj hosted the event alongside Angolan global supermodel Maria Borges.

The awards ceremony featured over 150 artists, showcasing the outstanding and diverse talent within Afro-centric music across various genres, including Afrobeat, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Afro-pop, Mbalax, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, Genge, Coupé Décalé, Bongo Flava, Soukous, Gospel, Rap, Rai, Kompa, R&B, and Rumba.
Among the winners were Burna Boy, a Grammy recipient, who took home the Album of the Year award. Yemi Alade secured the Best Music Video of the Year award, and Rema was honored as the Best Global African Artist.
