Ace gospel music duo, Tagoe Sisters have rendered an unqualified apology to ace producer, Zapp Mallet after relegating him to the background during their celebration of their 40 years anniversary.
The Tagoe Sisters @40 celebrations encompass a series of live music concerts taking place from September to October 2023, marking the 40th anniversary of the iconic Ghanaian gospel duo in the music industry.

The pinnacle of these events was a grand concert at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Among the notable figures and celebrities in attendance were President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Gifty Osei, Hopeson Adorye, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, Nacee, and Perez Musik.
Ace music producer, Zapp Mallet, produced the debut album of Tagoe Sisters (‘Stay In My Heart’) in 1989.
Zapp Mallet, who produced the Tagoe Sisters’ debut album titled ‘Stay In My Heart’ in 1989, expressed his disappointment at being excluded from the festivities in a recent outburst on social media app, X.
“Even though I produced their album in 1989 unless they didn’t consider that a release, I was never never invited to their 40th anniversary. Ingratitude or forgetfulness? Smh. Human nature,” he lamented on social media.

In light of Zapp Mallet’s concerns, the management of Tagoe Sisters released a press statement, expressing their regret for not being able to include the esteemed sound engineer in the 40th Anniversary celebrations.
The statement, signed by Nii Armah Armateifio, acknowledged that it was an inexcusable oversight on the part of the management and organizers. The Tagoe Sisters had initially included his name on the VIP guest list for both the Under Bridge and Accra International Conference Centre events. The statement concluded with a reiterated apology, stating, “Once again, our sincere apologies.”
