Alabaster International Ministries‘ founder and head, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has issued a stern warning to Parliament on the upcoming removal of IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
He highlighted that any attempt to have the officer removed might have major repercussions, particularly for the credibility of the elections in 2024.
“Now let me use this opportunity to tell the inquiry and the Parliament of Ghana, don’t make a mistake to remove Doctor (IGP) or make a recommendation to the president of Ghana to remove Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.”

On September 12, IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare appeared before a parliamentary panel looking into a video that was purportedly leaked outlining plans to have him removed from office.
All accusations made against him were rejected by him as being “baseless, false, and wild.”
Prophet Kofi Oduro recently urged Parliament in a sermon to carefully consider the repercussions of supporting Dampare’s ouster or taking strong action against him, highlighting the potential repercussions for the next 2024 election.
According to him, removing the police chief will be the government’s “worst mistake ever.”
“You know when President Mahama was the president and when he removed those three boys from prison. When he pardoned them, I said this would cost the president his election and it did.”
“l am telling the president of Ghana if Parliament should make a recommendation because we are gravitating towards the point that Akuffo Dampare should be replaced as Inspector General of Police. You would have tinted the integrity, veracity, and authenticity of the next election,” the preacher added.
