President Akufo Addo has sent warming eulogies of the late Theresa Kufour describing her as politically astute, composed and articulate First Lady.
The former first lady died Sunday night, October 1 at her residence near Peduase on the Aburi Mountain.
She was 88.
In a statement, President Akufo Addo said he was saddened by her death which reminds him of the journey of human mortality.
He said, “She bore the vicissitudes of life with great stoicism and an unshakable belief in the sovereignty of Almighty God. My wife, Rebecca, the First Lady, and I will miss her a lot.”
President Akufo expressed gratefulness to knowing Theresah Kufuor saying “Her warmth, kindness and grace were exceptional.”
The Late Former First Lady, earned great admiration from Ghanaians for the modest profile in her political service to the country.
She was the first lady of the 2nd President of the 4th Republic, His Excellency John Agyekum Kufuor from 2001 to 2009.
