The founder, chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley says Cape Coast’s rich heritage and vibrant culture has always been a beacon of knowledge and enhancement.
Acknowledging the profound impact Cape Coast has had on the educational sector in the country, he said education is not just a transmission of knowledge but a key to unlocking the potential of individuals and communities.
Dr. Mckorley also known as McDan made these assertions during the Oguaa Fetu Afahye 2023 grand durbar of the 59th Fetu Afahye of the people of Cape Coast last Saturday.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Celebrating our Educational Institutions for the Enhancement of Ghana, Dr. McKorley indicated that throughout history, the country’s educational institutions in Cape Coast have been a torchbearer.
To him, this has shaped the minds and character of generations.
“They have nurtured leaders, innovators and agents of positive change who have gone on to enhance the name of Oguaa National, International” he continued.
As such, he also pledged to ensure that entrepreneurs and students in the Cape Coast are supported in diverse ways and also to make Cape Coast great again.
He said, “We are making Cape Coast great again. And whatever it takes, we have to support this region. And as this country progresses, we as entrepreneurs and businessmen in this country, we need to give back to this country.”
As such, Dr. Mckorley’s foundation; McDonald Foundation pledged a hundred thousand (GHS100, 000) to support the six fifty thousand (GHS 650,000) budget needed for the progress of making Cape Coast great again.
He further supported a young man he met during his entrepreneurial challenge at the Cape Coast Technical University with GHS 20,000 to build his entrepreneurial business.
On her part, the central regional minister, Mad. Justina Marigold Assan acknowledged the efforts being made by the Oguaamanhen, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II to bring development to the metropolis.
She said the Fetu Afahye is an international festival that brings people from all walks of life to witness the unique culture in the Cape Coast traditional area.
Mad. Marigold Assan intimated that, through the Afahye, the development the region is seeking to attain will be materialised.
