Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that the club is prioritising the return of Lionel Messi this summer.
The Argentine World Cup winner is likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, with his future subject to intense speculation.
A return to Camp Nou has been mooted, however, there have been conflicting reports about the possibility.
The Catalan giants have found themselves at odds with La Liga over FFP, which is said to be preventing them from re-signing Messi.
Javier Tebas, the Spanish top-flight’s president, has repeatedly stated that he endorses the return of Messi but only if Barca reduce their wage bill and comply with the league’s FFP regulations.

However, Laporta has ensured the plans to bring back the Argentine superstar are still on.
Speaking after the victory over Espanyol last night – which confirmed the La Liga title for Barca, Laporta said (h/t Fabrizio Romano): “We will do everything we can to bring Leo Messi back to Barcelona.”
Barcelona fans were also seen chanting Messi’s name following the La Liga triumph, expressing their desire to see their legendary star in the Barca shirt next season.
Barca vice president Rafa Yuste also endorses the return of Messi this summer.
“He’s a very good friend of many guys who are celebrating La Liga today… I’m sure he is so happy!
“I would love Messi to come back,” Yuste told Carrusel Deportivo (h/t Fabrizio Romano).
Messi’s entourage has shrugged off the rumours about an agreement to play in Saudi Pro League in an audacious deal.
The 36-year-old’s return to Camp Nou depends on how much Barca will raise through sales this summer.
Players like Raphinha, Ferran Torres, Franck Kessie and Ansu Fati are on the chopping block.
Messi has the support of the dressing room and the top brass of Barca to return to Camp Nou.
