The Greater Accra Regional Vetting Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has put parliamentary hopefuls John Dumelo and Fred Nuamah of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on hold till further notice.
On Wednesday, April 5, the two candidates and others were scheduled to go through vetting procedures.
The Greater Accra Area Communications Officer stated that the other five applicants will be vetted by the close of the day on Wednesday.
Although the party has not said why the vetting of the two candidates was suspended, the parliamentary candidates are said to have failed to appear at the vetting venue.
However, the party has stated that it will determine what to do next when the vetting deadline of April 5 has passed.

Mr. Dumelo and Mr. Nuamah are actors who want to run for parliament in the Ayawaso West Wougon Constituency on the National Democratic Congress platform.
Mr. Dumelo made his maiden bid in the 2020 election, losing by a razor-thin margin to New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
Dumelo and Nuamah developed a rivalry because Mr Dumelo believed he had been deceived by Mr Nuamah, whom he considered a friend, for running against him.
Mr. Nuamah, on the other hand, does not believe he has betrayed his supposed friend because he claimed he had Mr. Dumelo’s permission in his bid to contest.
Likewise, the NDC has scheduled its primaries for May 13.
