US Vice-President Kamala Harris has arrived in Ghana as part of a nine-day trip to Africa.
US vice president Kamala Harris says it is a great honour to be in Ghana and on the continent of Africa.
The excited second most important person in America was greeted by schoolchildren, dancers and drummers upon her arrival in Accra on Sunday.
With a hand placed on her heart, she smiled as she passed by the hard-hitting drummers and the graceful dancers.
The US Vice President will proceed to Tanzania and Zambia from Ghana.
An excited Kamala Harris could not hide her joy as she was welcomed by vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and other government officials.
“What an honour it is to be here in Ghana and on the continent of Africa,” Harris said.

“I’m very excited about the future of Africa.”
The US expressed its interest in Africa when president Biden met African leaders during the US-Africa summit in December.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and First Lady Jill Biden have all traveled to various parts of Africa to forge relationships in the wake of China’s and Russia’s expanding influence on the continent.
The Vice President’s visit aims to expand on the summit discussions from December.
She and President Akufo-Addo are anticipated to address the economy as Ghana looks to restructure its foreign debt.
