Highlife legend Nana Tuffour has passed on after suffering a short illness. He died in his Kumasi residence early hours Monday 15th June 2020.
Nana Tuffour known in private life as James Kwaku Tuffour has made a huge impact in the Ghana music industry, especially in the highlife genre. His first album “Highlife Romance” which was released in 1979 brought him to the limelight. He has at least 12 other albums to his credit and has won several excellence awards.
Popular among his albums are Abeiku, which was his last album , Tontonte, Genesis, The Best of Nana Tuffour, Daasebre, Hilife – Storm, Sankofa, Mega Vibes and Highlife Classics.
His music career started with the Wanto Wazuri Band where he played as a pianist. His zeal and charisma will soon bring him to the front stage of Waza Africo Band.
His body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy.
He was 66 years old.
