The Cape Coast Youth Development Association has launched its 12th anniversary with a call on residents to avoid partisan politics to foster development in the metropolis.
President and CEO at Eagle Empire Group Ltd and patron of the association, Mr. Emmanuel Valis Akyianu who made the call said Cape Coast is a beautiful and historic city and residents must ensure nothing destroys it.
Mr. Akyianu is of the strong conviction that, oneness is required to anchor the development of the people of Cape Coast and their communities.
Speaking under the theme: “Safeguarding the peace of Cape Coast for the development of the youth, he advised the residents saying “let us all be one, let us love one another, and let’s make sure we develop Oguaaman. It is possible, we have done this and we can do it again.
The Cape Coast Youth Development Association (CCYDA) has been in existence for 12 years now.
According to a member of the planning committee for the 12th-anniversary celebrations, Mr. Francis Cole Arthur, the association has been able to support the youth in the metropolis and other sectors of the cape coast community.
According to him, the association has distributed 13,000 exercise books to the Cape Coast North and South constituencies and also supported them with SHS materials such as trunk and chop box among others.
He said, “all we seek to do is to develop Cape Coast, we want to get our own doctors and professors.”
The 12th anniversary of the Cape Coast Youth Development Association is a yearlong anniversary celebration that started on Saturday, January 28, 2023, and is expected to end on Sunday, September 8, 2023.
Highlights of the celebration will include health screening, an entrepreneurship and youth empowerment summit, an inter-community quiz competition, and football gala.
Others are clean-up exercises, youth colloquium, the unveiling of a Cold-Cast sculpture of a former Oguaamanhen, presentation of awards, and thanksgiving service.
