The Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Takyi Mensah has indicated the party’s resolve to win more seats in the region in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
He notes that the Central Region NPP under the chairmanship of Robert Kutin Jnr. is determined to capture the parliamentary seats the NPP lost in the 2020 elections.
Mr. Mensah, who made the remarks while addressing journalists at a press soirée, organized by the party to appreciate the media’s work, acknowledged that the results from the Central Region determine the winner of general elections in Ghana.
“The party that wins the region forms the next government and therefore we know that going in 2024, we are going to wage a fierce and formidable campaign to win the region again for the NPP.” He said.
He, therefore, said his party is leaving no stone unturned in the next presidential and parliamentary elections.
“We are hoping that in our quest to win the region again in 2024, the media continues to partner with us as we aim to prosecute a very formidable campaign in 2024… we have it at the back of our minds that this region is going to be the battleground and we are poised to win the region once again.” He continued.
Mr. Richard Takyi Mensah further intimated that in attaining the feat the party has set for itself in the region, the media will play a critical role in its campaign to ensure victory in 2024.
“He said “Whatever we do, we need to communicate to the outside world and if we don’t get to your platform, there’s no way we can communicate. So we cherish you, we value you in our work as a political party within the region.”
The Chairman of Central Region NPP, Mr. Robert Kutin commended the media in the region for their support over the years and indicated the party and government’s preparedness to forge and collaborate with them to develop the Central Region.
According to him, it is the belief of the party that the media are partners for development and will therefore continuously work hand-in-hand with the media to propagate the good works the NPP government has done for the Central Region and Ghana.
The main motive of the press soirée is to strengthen the bond that exists between the regional party and the media.
