The Ghana Police Service is urging the public to be security conscious and not fall prey to crimes as they enjoy the 2022 FIFA World Cup which kicks starts on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
In a statement issued on November 17, 2022, the police said they are working to ensure that the nation enjoys a peaceful and incident-free tournament.
However, the police urged the public to ensure they do not also infringe on the rights and freedoms of others during the tournament.
They are also calling on those who intend to organize public viewing of the tournament to contact Police Regional, Divisional, and District Commands for further security directives or call 0277585542 for support.
The police administration indicated that they recognize the euphoria during the FIFA World Cup tournaments comes with its security implications, as such adequate additional security measures have been put in place to maintain security, law, and order in the country during the event and beyond.
