Police say the two suspects in connection with the murder of Georgina Asor Botchwey have confessed to murdering the victim for money rituals.
65-year-old Christopher Ekow Clarke Quansah and self-styled Pastor Micheal Darko alias Nana 1 have been charged with conspiracy to commit crime, to wit murder, and murder contrary to section 46 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960, Act 29.
They appeared at the Cape Coast District Court 2 on Thursday, September 22, 2022, but will reappear in court on October 4, 2022.
Christopher Ekow Clarke Quansah, Tufuhene of Ekumfi Akwakrom was arrested after his aid, Micheal Darko the self-styled Pastor confessed to the heinous act.

Police in Mankessim had mounted a search for the nurse trainee, who had been missing for weeks after her picture started circulating on social media.
25-year-old Ms. Botchwey was said to have travelled to Cape Coast to have an interview and contacted the pastor, who is her senior sister’s boyfriend.
It is alleged that the two suspects hatched a plan and as such kidnapped and secretly buried the deceased, in one of the chief’s uncompleted rooms.

Meanwhile, residents have expressed fear about the incident, especially as it involves a chief.
The Assembly Member of the area, Cephas Arthur, has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to beef up security in Mankessim and its environs.
He said this is not the first time such an incident is happening in the area as it counts Number 5 this year.
The body of the victim has since been deposited at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.
