Presidential advisor on health, Dr. Nsiah Asare says though Ghana’s Covid 19 cases have seen an upsurge; its management is very well under control.
According to him, considering the number of cases recorded and the corresponding deaths means Ghana is fortunate with managing the pandemic.
Ghana, per the Ghana Health Service data, has recorded 9, 638 cases of the novel coronavirus disease. Of the number, 5, 958 are active cases, 3, 636 recoveries and 44 deaths. Greater Accra leads the regional distribution table with 6,309, Ashanti Region follows with 1,734 and Western Region comes third with 624. The Central Region remains at the fourth position with 489 cases.

Speaking on TV3 yesterday Dr. Nsiah Asare noted there was no cause for alarm following the increase in numbers since the weeks ahead promise to record more recoveries.
He however reiterated the need for individuals to stay responsible. “We shouldn’t be so much worried but we should be careful to follow all that measures that have been put in place but we should not be excessively worried. If you panic, it is more deadly than the covid-19 itself.”, he cautioned.
Dr. Asare added the Ghanaians should not of focus on the cumulative cases per say but rather “put your attention on is the number of positive cases that we get every day.”

“If you compare 4th June midnight to 5th June midnight, the total number we added increased by 176 to me that is the most important. And another important thing to consider is continuously be following the case fatality”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Mission in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has served notice that it will begin the evacuation of stranded Ghanaians in the country on Friday, June 12, 2020.
Fees for the evacuation have been pegged at GHS 4,000 and GHS 7,900 for economy and business class respectively.
Another flight with the Ghanaians will arrive in the country on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
