Charles Nii Armah, professionally known as Shatta Wale, pled guilty to dissemination of false news.
In the event that he does not pay the fine, he will be imprisoned for three (3) months.
This was after he changed his plea from not guilty to guilty before His Worship, Emmanuel Essandoh of the Circuit Court 4.
The controversial musician was summoned before the court for allegedly spreading death prophecies about himself on social media.
His lawyer, Jerry Avenogbor, told the Court that he was a first-time offender who was remorseful of the act.
The prosecution, headed by ASP Maxwell Oppong, did not object to the change of plea.

Shatta Wale was arrested in October 2021 for spreading false rumors that he was shot in an Accra gun attack.
In a long Facebook message before to his arrest, he apologized to his supporters and anyone hurt by the hoax.
According to him, he used the team members’ phones to create the phony post.
He referred to a preacher’s prediction that he will be shot and killed on October 18, 2021.
According to Shatta Wale, he was startled that the security forces were unable to provide him with protection in light of this prophesy; hence, he decided to arrange a fictitious assault.
However, his actions were widely condemned by the public, with many advocating for the artist to be punished.
