At the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, received six awards.
At the ceremony held on Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the musician won every prize in the Gospel categories.
Ye was named ‘Top Gospel Artist’ and ‘Top Christian Artist,’ respectively.
He won the Top Christian Artist award beating Carrie Underwood, Elevation Worship, for King & Country, and Lauren Daigle.
He also took home the Top Gospel Artist award, beating out CeCe Winans, Elevation Worship, Kirk Franklin, and Maverick City Music.

The other accolades were from his critically praised album ‘Donda,’ which was named after his mother and released in 2021.
At the Billboard Music Awards, the album was named “Top Gospel Album” and “Top Christian Album.”
Hurricane, one of the album’s tracks, earned both the ‘Top Gospel Song’ and ‘Top Christian Song’ accolades.
Kanye West took home the second most awards of the night.
Olivia Rodrigo, a pop singer, took home seven awards on the night.
Drake took up five awards, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, and Top Rap Album for his song “Certified Lover Boy.”
