The Ukrainian embassy in Kenya is looking for donations to help assist Ukraine’s war against Russia and preserve the lives of those who have been harmed.
The initiative was prompted by “many requests” from Kenyans interested in contributing to the cause, according to the embassy.
It has set up two fundraising bank accounts as well as an M-Pesa (mobile money transfer) account.
Since Russia’s invasion on February 24, more than four million people have fled Ukraine, according to UN figures.
Kenya was one of 141 nations to support a UN resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and calling for its military to withdraw immediately.
