The Executive Committee of the Academic Board of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has scheduled the resumption of academic activities at all levels, for Monday, February 28, 2022.
This follows an emergency meeting held on Wednesday as a result of the calling-off of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) strike by its National Executives last Monday.
The President of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Samuel Kwabena Addotei, had earlier disclosed that the SRC was negotiating with the Directorate of Academic Affairs to restructure the academic calendar for this semester to ease pressure on students.
The resumption of lectures had got some students worried as they fear lecturers would not have ample time to adequately cover their respective courses.
But speaking on ATLFM’s Atlantic wave, the SRC President assured students that, efforts will be made to ensure academic work runs successfully.
As per the approved academic calendar, matriculation for freshmen is scheduled for Saturday, March 5. Lectures are scheduled to take 10 weeks, both face-to-face and online for examinations to start on Thursday, May 12.
The exams will also take two weeks, in time for the end of semester on Saturday, May 28.
