The public hearing on the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021 has been resumed by the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee.
This is the third and last public hearing. Today, the Committee anticipates roughly eight presentations. Each presentation would be limited to 20 minutes.
The Committee has received about 150 memoranda on the Bill from individuals, groups, and faith-based organizations.
If enacted in its present form, the law would criminalize lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people and their activities in the country.
