The Cape Coast Metropolitan Health Directorate is entreating residents within its jurisdiction and all unvaccinated Ghanaians to participate in the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination exercise.
According to the metropolitan directorate, the fight against Covid-19 is yielding positive results hence, the need to continuously adhere to protocols and policies put in place by the Ghana Health Service to mitigate its spread.
Speaking to ATLFMNEWS, the Cape Coast Metro health promotion officer of the Ghana Health Service, Aaron Essuman said the vaccination exercise within the Cape Coast Metro has so far received a favorable response.
In the Cape Coast Metropolis, he noted, across the twenty designated points of vaccination, the number of fully vaccinated persons stands at 62,405. Giving further details he indicated, “…about 43,418 persons have taken the AstraZeneca; 1, 772 have taken Moderna; 12,679 for Johnson and Johnson and 4, 536 persons have taken the Pfizer vaccine.
Mr. Essuman was impressed with the overall participation of residents in the exercise saying, “saying more people have vaccinated now, the numbers are looking good.”
Central Region administers 41.9% of Covid-19 Vaccines
The Central Region since the rollout of the mass Covid-19 vaccination exercise across the country has so far vaccinated 41.9% of its target population.
ATLFMNEWS gathers that as of the 17th of January, 2022, seven hundred and nine thousand, five hundred and six (709, 506) people out of the targeted population of one million, six hundred and ninety-eight thousand, three hundred and forty-five (1, 698, 345) had been captured.
Out of the vaccinated population, 18.1% have been fully vaccinated while the remaining 23.8% have received the first dose.
