The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has issued a GH50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the armed robbers who brutally murdered two police officers in Zuarungu in the Upper East Region.
This implies that anybody who provides information leading to the arrest of the thieves would get GH50,000.
According to sources, the deceased was on a motorcycle patrolling the neighborhood on Wednesday evening when they met their terrible demise.
According to JoyNews’ Albert Sore, the victims came upon the robbers when they were robbing a ‘provisions’ store in the market square. The bandits opened fire upon sighting the cops.
He stated that the police motorcycle on which the cops were traveling was reportedly struck by a bullet, resulting in an explosion and the duo’s instantaneous death.
In response, the Police Service labeled it a “Black Wednesday” in a Facebook post.
Following that, the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, made a break from his current responsibilities in the Ashanti Region to pay a visit to the families of the “fallen Heroes.”
According to him, the Service would leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of the murderers.
