The food and drugs Authority is urging Ghanaians to be vigilant in their purchase of food items, especially during the yuletide.
This is in the wake of the sale of unwholesome products by some retailers and importers in the markets.
Senior Regulatory Officer for the Food and Drugs Authority in the Central Region, Rosemary Doe Sorkpor, who spoke on the Atlantic Wave Monday, cautioned consumers to be wary of especially the manufactured and expiry dates on pre-packaged products.
She said “If you use any product that has exceeded its ‘best before date, ‘use-by date or its expiry date and something happens to you, you do so at your own risk. And so when you are buying a product, you should be very careful…”
On products that are not packaged, Rosemary Sorkpor advised consumers to be mindful of the environment where the products are being sold.

As the yuletide approaches with family and friends coming together to celebrate, she urged all and sundry to make their health their priority to ensure a successful occasion.
