1 person has died while 4 others sustained various injuries when three vehicles collided on the Accra – Cape Coast -Takoradi highway Thursday morning.
The driver of a Hilux pickup with number GT-688-15 and belonging to the University of Ghana, School of Continuing and Distance Education is said to have veered off its lane while driving at top speed and collided with a Sinotruck of Zonda Tech Ghana Limited with car number GT-577-21.
The impact, according to an eyewitness, caused the Hilux pickup to hit a Toyota Saloon car with number GE-5473-21 which was traveling behind it.
Another eyewitness lamented the time it took the Ghana National Fire Service to respond to the incident.
He further called on the government to equip the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service to be able to respond swiftly to such incidents to help save the lives of people involved in accidents.
Meanwhile, information gathered by ATLFMNEWS from the emergency department of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital that, the Hilux Pick-up driver died some minutes after the accident while a second person in his car suffered some degrees of injuries and responding to treatment at the Elmina Polyclinic.
The Sinotruck driver and his mate escaped unhurt while the three occupants of the Toyota Saloon Car suffered some minor injuries and are responding to treatment.
