The Central Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service ACFO1 John Amarlai Amartey has advised applicants to desist from producing falsified documents during the screening as that would be detrimental to their recruitment into the service.
According to ACFO1 Amartey, many applicants who appear for screening and other background checks lack basic requirements or produce falsified documents for processing which he indicates will not be tolerated.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) began the screening processes for prospective recruits on Monday October 25 in the Greater Accra Region and the Central Region where thousands of applicants thronged the various centers to undergo screening.
Speaking in an interview with ATLFM NEWS, ACFO Amartey warned that the service will conduct intensive background checks to screen and punish people found culpable to such offence.
He reiterated that “we are on the alert trying to ensure that the application forms that we are working with are genuine. We are not going to give a chance to those who are going to come with fake documents. If you do not have a valid birth certificate, valid national identification card or valid educational certificates, do not try because we will screen you and we will sort you out and when we sort you out as a culprit, we will deal with you”.
The Regional Commander also warned applicants to stay away from middle persons who request for money in the name of getting them recruited in the service.
He said their outfit has not given that right to any middle person and as such applicants should the standard processes and procedure as rolled out by the service.
