After three years of starting its Doctor of Philosophy program, the Institute of Development and Technology Management (IDTM) in Cape Coast has graduated the first batch of students.
Apart from a total of 4 students who were awarded the degree at the Institute’s 6th Congregation, one Master of Arts student and 6 Master of Philosophy students were also awarded degrees respectively.
The sixth congregation and Graduation of the MA, MPhil and Ph.D. students wAS under the auspices of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The Rector of the Institute, Professor John Micah, while congratulating the graduates, urged them to be creative and sensitize solutions to critical challenges.
“Effectively apply your knowledge and skills to the task at hand … work hard and aim at making a difference wherever you find yourselves and always acknowledge the help of God.” He added.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast at the ceremony, Professor Simon Mariwah, who is the Director of the Institute for Oil and Gas Studies congratulated the institute for investing and producing important and relevant graduates for Ghana and beyond.
He further indicated that as a mentor institution, the University of Cape Coast will continue to support the Institute of Development and Technology Management in the production and generation of knowledge relevant to Ghana’s socio-economic development.

The Provost of the College of Arts and Built Environment at KNUST, Prof. John Tiah Bugri in an address on behalf of the KNUST VC, Rita Akosua Dickson praised the Institute for their resilience amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
He added that KNUST is always poised to play a role in partnership with IDTM to help tackle the peculiar challenges of accessibility to higher education in the country.
The 6th graduation ceremony was held under the theme, “The Potential of Higher Education for Development: Institute of Development and Technology Management in focus.”
