The Ghana Police Service has detained Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, also known as Funny Face.
On the evening of Monday, October 18, 2021, he was arrested. The arrest was publicized on social media by the police.
According to the police, Funny Face was detained for allegedly threatening people on social media.
In a viral video, he is heard cursing specific people and threatening to murder the mother of his children for supposedly using the children to extort money from him.
He also threatened to kill himself.

“The police on Monday, 18th October 2021, at 10:14 pm arrested Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, for allegedly threatening certain individuals via some Social Media platforms.”
In the post, the police said that they would take him to court to get a psychiatric examination order.
According to the police, this is essential to assist the service in determining the line of investigation.
“Due to the history of the suspect, the police shall submit Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng to the court for an order for psychiatric examination, to determine the next line of investigative action.”
“The police are committed to protecting lives with the generous help of the public. We want to assure the public that we shall not take anything for granted in the interest of public safety.”
