Police in the Central Region is investigating a case of a woman who has allegedly hit the head of her husband resulting in his death.
The woman, Joyce Okyere, also known as Esi Atta is said to have hit the head of her 45 year-old husband, Francis Efrim with a piece of wood.
The incident is reported to have occurred at the early hours of Tuesday, 21st September, 2021 at Swedru in the Central Region.
The case was reported to the Swderu police, who visited the Agona Swedru Government Hospital and found the deceased lying dead on a stretcher.
The deceased had been pronounced dead on arrival by the medical doctor on duty.
The body according to the police was duly inspected and a deep cut was found on the fore head of the deceased, Francis Efrim.
His body has been deposited at the Agona Swedru hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy while suspect Joyce Okyere is also currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Central Regional Police Command, Inspector Isaac Evans Ettie giving details of this incident also urged the general public to channel all domestic grievances to the Domestic Voilence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) for the necessary action to be taken for them.
