Tufohene of Oguaa Traditional Area, Nana Kwame Adu VI has called on indigenes of the Cape Coast Metropolis to strictly adhere to the directives put in place by the traditional council to ensure a successful observance of the rites leading to the celebration of the Fetu Afahye.
He says anyone who flaunts these rules will face the full rigorous of the law.
The Oguaa Traditional Council placed a ban on drumming and noise-making on the 3rd of August 2021 and this will end on 19th of August while the ban on fishing in the Fosu Lagoon will end on 31st August, 2021.
Total ban on funerals he said begins immediately after the lifting of the ban on drumming and noise-making on the 19th of August to the 3rd week of September 2021.
Nana Kwame Adu VI, speaking exclusively to ATL FM NEWS hinted that those who have flouted the rule so far have been arrested and would be prosecuted soon.
He revealed that “Information and notices have been sent out to relevant organisations and stakeholders as well as community centres in order for all to comply with these directives except that a few recalcitrant ones are flouting the rules on the ban on drumming and noise-making and they have been arrested for prosecution.”
Nana Kwame Adu VI further urged indigenes in the metropolis to follow the laid down Covid 19 protocols to ensure their safety.
