According to Yaw TOG, he would spend the year after high school entirely focused on his music career before returning to school. He also stated that he will not be enrolling in any Ghanaian institution.
Yaw Tog told Mz Gee on NewDay, “I’m going to the international one.” When pressed further on which colleges he deems worldwide, he replied, “Oh, you already know. Ghana is not represented here.” However, he remained silent on the details of this worldwide institution that would be home to the VGMA 2021 Best Hip-hop Song of the Year winner.
Yaw Tog is now preparing to sit his Secondary level final examinations (WASSCE). He discussed how he balances his popularity with his academics at school. Yaw Tog stated that he previously let his peers photograph and film him. However, this got very oppressive, and he has put an end to it. “One day I was eating, and someone took a picture of me. Then I went to the person, took the phone and deleted it. And I was like, why bro? So cant I eat? And I told him bro let me delete this picture because when it drops. I am dead.” He persisted.
Yaw also said that he is unconcerned with critics since he is just concerned about earning money. It’s all about making bread for his mother, he claims. Additionally, Yaw Tog debuted a music video for his song, ‘Fake Ex.’
The young Kumerica rapper has faced backlash for his remarks about his partnership with Stormzy. And for addressing his haters on the VGMA stage.
