Highlife artiste, Kofi Kinaata, has made history by winning the Songwriter of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ceremony two consecutive years adding up to a total tally of four.
Kofi Kinaata shrugged of competition from other musicians like Diana Hamilton, Adina, Joe Mettle, Abiana and Epixode who were in the same category, Songwriter of the Year during the first phase of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ceremony with his hit song, “Behind The Scenes”.
As a result of this feat, he has recorded his name in the history books of VGMA by winning the award four times, breaking the Music maestro, Kojo Antwi’s record after he had won it three times, with Okyeame Kwame winning it twice.
He first wrote his name in the book by winning it in 2016, after releasing his hit song, “Susuka”, a song produced by Kindee in October 2015.
He further went on to win it again for the consecutive time in 2017, with another nationwide banger, Confession. However, in 2018, Ebony won it and was followed up by King Promise in 2019.

However, in 2017 he won two other awards namely Highlife Song of the Year and Highlife Artiste of the Year with the same song.
Kofi Kinaata who is currently enjoying a lot of airplay with his new single, “Thy Grace” won it for another consecutive year when in 2020, he won it with “Things Fall Apart” and in 2021, “Behind The Scene”.
