The University of Cape Coast has inaugurated five committees to lead the development drive of the university.
The committee is the UCC 2016 statutes review committee, chaired by former Vice-Chancellor of the UCC Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, the University of Cape Coast 60th Anniversary committee chaired by Prof L.K Sam-Amoah, and the Committee for naming monuments and structures within the university chaired by Prof Henrietta Abane.
The rest are the University of Cape Coast Strategic plan review committee chaired by Professor Daniel Agyapong and the committee writing the history of the University of Cape Coast chaired by Prof Kwame Osei Kwarteng.
Each of the committees is made up of members drawn from different sections of the university with diverse backgrounds. Inaugurating the committee, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast. Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong said he was optimistic that the rich experiences of the members of the committees will help achieve the desired results.

“In constituting these committees, management was guided by the basic assumptions that all of you come from diverse backgrounds with varied expertise. Indeed expertise, that is relevant to the corporate agenda we have all set for ourselves within the general framework of UCC’s strategic plan to continue to make UCC a center for academic excellence and a place of global significance”, he intimated.
Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast Prof Joseph Ghartey Ampiah assured the Vice-Chancellor of the members resolve to give in their best to produce the best results
“On behalf of the various chairpersons of the committee set up by the Vice-Chancellor as well as members of the various committee, Mr. Vice Chancellor, we pledge to do our work with all diligence assiduously, finish it for the purpose of moving the University forward as you have said”.
He further remarked “I can see that there are many people from different sections of the University and I believe they are not representing different interests but they will all be bringing their experiences onboard for the interest of the University which is paramount. We hope to do our work well and submit our reports to you at the stipulated date and time. We also believe that we have the support of the University in doing our work and we thank you for the confidence that you have in us to execute these different tasks that you have given to us”
