Mr Alex Djonoborh Tetteth, Member of Parliament for Sefwi-Akontombra in the Western North Region, has urged Muslim leaders and Imams to ensure that their followers followed the COVID-19 protection protocols during the Ramadan fast.
He stated that the government and the Ghana Health Service were doing their best to combat the pandemic, and that all would work together to ensure that participants followed the guidelines in order to have a COVID-19-free Ramadan.
Mr Tetteth made the announcement when he donated 64 bags of sugar to be given to the area’s mosques, explaining that the gift was intended to help them during their 30-day fast.
He praised the peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians in the region and urged them to keep it up because it promotes harmony and prosperity.
Mr Tetteth urged them to pray for the country’s progress in general and the Akontombra District in particular.

Alhaji Abdulai Yahaya, Bezibema Chief Imam, who accepted the objects on behalf of the Muslim community, expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament for his thoughtful gesture and continued support for Muslims in the region.
Alhaji Yahaya urged Muslims across the country to follow the protection precautions in order to contain and control the virus’s dissemination.
He promised that the Muslim representatives in the District would strictly adhere to all protection steps.
