The Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has detained two additional individuals, including a fetish priestess, for their suspected role in the ritual murder of an eleven-year-old child.
On Thursday, April 8, 2021, Charity Mensah, the fetish priestess, and Desmond Nii Adjei were arrested in Amanase, near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
Felix Nyarko, 16, and Nicholas Kini, 18, were previously charged with the boy’s murder for ritual money.
Nyarko and Kini informed police that they were guided to obtain a virgin’s dead body in addition to GHC5,000.00 for the money rituals by a spiritualist they saw on television.

The teens, who resided in the same neighborhood as the deceased, reportedly abducted him from his home to an unfinished building nearby, where Kini allegedly struck the back of his neck with a wooden pickaxe handle.
According to the police, Nyarko had reportedly struck the boy with a cement block, instantly killing him.
The two were convicted and remanded to appear in court on April 20, 2021, by the Ofankor District Court.
DSP Juliana Obeng, the CID’s Public Information Officer, reported the incident to the media.
