In readiness for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, Ghana’s National Paralympic Committee (NPC) has invited six of the country’s best para-athletes to camp at Cape Coast in the Central Region.
The camping will take place from April 9 to May 2, 2021.
According to a letter signed by Mr. Peter Adjei, the NPC’s General Secretary, the camping was part of Ghana’s plans for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
He mentioned that the NPC was working nonstop to ensure that the para-athletes will compete in the Paris Grand Prix in June.
Just five slots were open for the draw, according to him, with the fifth slot going to a woman.

The selected national para-athletes who are to report to were; Zinabu Issah (Discuss/Shot Putt (F55), Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe (100m F54), Felix Acheampong (800m/1500m (T54), Patrick Yaw Obeng (800m/1500m T54), Mclean Atsu Dzidzienyo (200m/400m (T53), Yusif Amadu -High Jump (T42) and Emmanuel Anum Sowah – Coach.
Mr. Samson Deen, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, said that every attempt will be made to ensure that the para-athletes have a sound mind as well as the strength and inspiration to do well.
Ghana is hoping to earn a bronze at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, he added.
